What we did
We met with the alliance and quickly knew that it was not only a cause near and dear to us as property owners in the downtown core but as business owners and citizens of the city, so we very quickly got on board with the project. Read more about the project below.
Delivered
Logo
We designed a logo that would easily identify the alliance within the city. The logo was designed to represent change, along with growth, renewal and revival.
Wordpress Blog
We designed the website look and feel with the intention of laying the design over top of the WordPress framework, for the added flexibility of maintenance. By doing this we were able to build in a great comment system where visitors can login and post their two cents on the topic.
Social Media
We integrated the WordPress blog with a Facebook account so that the alliance can reach a larger audience. Users comments on the alliances FB page are directly funneled into the blog. Users can also ‘like’ the page to increase the chances of the viral effect.
Results?
The Save Downtown Kelowna Alliance has been in the media spotlight since the day the site launched. Numerous online and traditional newspapers have requested interviews and later this month they have been invited as guests on CBC. Two days after the site was live the Mayor of the City of Kelowna requested a meeting and members of the alliance were invited to attend the upcoming round table on the issue. Big accomplishments for a small site? Well, not if you knew the passion the guys behind the issue have for our city, so what’s next? The upcoming municipal elections and swaying voters to vote for pro-downtown candidates of course.
