Delivered
Logo Design
The Aberdeen Hall athletic department was looking for a new logo to better represent their teams in the competitive school sports arena. They were already using an older version and were somewhat committed to cleaning and polishing the existing logo, for a more professional feel. We took one look and were beyond excited to design a whole new logo. We hand sketched a new, age appropriate gryphon before we took it to vector level. The new gryphon housed all of the schools colors and incorporated a custom designed font. Uproar ensued. Aberdeen Hall teachers were quick to react and decided to take this opportunity to teach a valuable lesson about politics. A campaign and subsequent vote was held where students, teachers and parents were able to cast their vote for their favorite logo -old or new? Well, we were sad to report that the old logo won by a close vote – we call Florida on the whole situation, but that’s politics for you!
Print Design
Aberdeen Hall is a relatively young school and works hard to attract great students and teachers to the school. They regularly host hot topic speakers related to education and parenting, charity events, student activities, open houses and sports activities to help raise the profile of the school. We are able to assist them with the design and development of posters, postcards, direct mail pieces, flyers, tickets, signs, newspaper/magazine ads and any ancillary stationary required for the task at hand. These pieces can be seen throughout the Okanagan to promote the school.
Social Media/Digital PR
We assist Aberdeen Hall with their Facebook and Twitter accounts, not only for the design and mechanics of the accounts, but also as content writers. It’s very important that the school has a consistent tone, which was established early on in the process. We also manage Aberdeen’s e-mail news campaign, which allows the faculty to send out branded announcements to the school community and other media outlets.
Wordpress CMS
The Aberdeen website is under continuous change, which is why we determined early on that we would use the WordPress framework to develop the website. The WordPress framework allows every piece of information on the site from the menu down to the graphics and pictures to be easily edited. It also allows for us to quickly and easily find solutions such as calendars and galleries that fit with the school’s ever changing needs.
Website Maintenance
We are in synch with the school’s needs and so in touch with the messaging and content that is expected of the school, so it was a natural fit for us to work with Aberdeen on keeping their web content fresh. We watch for newsletters to come in and make sure that we are up to date on school happenings, so we can reflect school events accurately on the website. We also work with the school during their downtime in Summer and Winter breaks to revisit their marketing plan and ensure that the marketing is on track.
